A Joy Strategy for Leaders: Part 3: Your Commitment & Your Community

We’ve talked about your challenge. We’ve talked about your tool. Now it’s time for your commitment.

One of my favorite illustrations from my keynote involves a single light—small, steady, shining. But as other lights join it, the room transforms.

You are a light. And the world needs your brightness.

But here’s the truth: A single light can feel lonely. That’s why your Joy List matters—it keeps your light bright enough to connect with the light in others.

Your Joy Commitment Statement

This is the moment where you move from “knowing” to leading.

Leaders I work with have made powerful commitments:

✅ “Being a bright light daily.”

“Finding the good in every teacher.”

“Showing up with a smile—even when it’s hard.”

✅ “Not giving up on spreading light, even when darkness exists.”

This is joy in action. This is purpose with legs.

Now it’s your turn.

Final Challenge:

Finish this sentence: “I commit to leading with more joy by…”

Write it down in your journal. Then write it in the comments so we can stand with you.

Joy is not a personality trait. It’s a strategy. It’s leadership. It’s legacy.

And when you choose joy, you give everyone around you permission to rise with you.

Welcome to the movement.
