Dr. Moore:
A Visionary Leader and Educator

Embracing Your Unique Gifts and Talents To Foster Joy!

Dr. Moore is a visionary leader and educator whose 32 year career in public education is defined by her ability to transform challenges into opportunities for growth.

She served the Millville Public Schools for 21 years, including as Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and
Instruction and Principal of Silver Run School, where her leadership helped the school shed its “school in need of improvement” designation and embark on a journey to excellence. Some of this work was highlighted in ASCD’s video series Classroom Instruction That Works.

Dr. Moore began her career as an Alternate Route Teacher and Vice Principal in Camden, NJ, demonstrating her ability to adapt, inspire, and lead from the start. She later worked as a Program Specialist for the New Jersey Department of Education and has been an adjunct  professor at Rowan University for over 20 years, empowering future educators through courses on Organizational Leadership and the Alternate Route Program.

Currently, Dr. Moore serves as Coordinator for the New Jersey Institute for School Leadership at NJPSA/FEA, where she facilitates leadership development. Her work has reached countless educators through sessions on Formative Assessment, Teacher Leadership, Gratitude, Self-
Care, and Culturally Responsive Practices. This includes serving on the development team for the PSEL tool, The Equity Academy, and the New Jersey Leadership Academy.

Dr. Moore’s journey has not been without challenges. In a poignant moment of personal struggle, she found herself grappling with a profound disappointment that shook her deeply. A friend's simple yet powerful words—"You are going to be okay"—offered her a lifeline of hope, reminding her that even in the darkest times, it is possible to rediscover joy and purpose. This experience deepened her resolve to lead with light, hope, and joy, inspiring others to believe in their worth and embrace their unique journey.

Born in East Orange, NJ, Dr. Moore earned her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and Master’s in Educational Leadership from Temple University and her Doctorate in Leadership and Innovation from Wilmington University. She has been recognized for her community contributions, including honors from the National Congress of Black Women and United Way, where she served as Campaign Chairperson and Board Member. She has also been awarded the Geraldine R. Dodge/FEA Principal Fellowship and a Rutgers Confucius Institute grant to visit and study schools in China.

Dr. Moore often shares the story of Baby Jessica McClure’s rescue in 1987—a powerful metaphor for resilience and hope. Like Baby Jessica, who endured being trapped in a well but emerged to live a full life, Dr. Moore believes our hardest moments are just moments in time. They may mark us, but they do not define us.

Dr. Moore is unwavering in her belief that every person is a unique creation, designed with gifts and talents meant to impact the world in profound ways. Her mission is to remind others that their lives are worth fighting for, that every day brings an opportunity to choose joy, and the challenges we face can lead to a brighter, more purposeful future.
